Welcome to scenic Lighthouse Christian Retreat, Inc. (LHCR), a year-round, non-denominational Christian Conference and Retreat center in Virginia. It sits on 97.5 acres of beautiful Virginia rolling hills. At the Lighthouse, we show God’s love and concern for our fellow man at every opportunity. The Lighthouse was inspired by the Holy Spirit and purposed to exalt the Lord by offering a place of refuge for His people. This is a place to be restored, renewed, and refreshed and grow and encounter the living God. This vision was prophetically declared numerous times for decades and founded on Isaiah 58.
The Lighthouse Christian Retreat was divinely assigned to Valerie Thomas, founder, and CEO, in 2004. It was in her adventures and heart to stay at a Christian Retreat for several weeks or away at specific destinations for several weeks a year for decades to minister unto the Lord and seek the face of God for further direction, renewal, and strength to intercede for others. Out of many personal encounters with God through the Holy Spirit, the Lighthouse Christian Retreat was born. Over many decades she has experienced signs, wonders, and miracles as an overflow of time spent alone in the Presence of God.

Lighthouse Christian Retreat, Inc. is a non-profit, non-denominational, Christian organization that exists to make a difference in the lives of individuals, communities, churches, secular organizations, the court system, substance and abuse, recovery centers, senior citizens, special needs, adoption parents, at-risk children, and unwed-mothers, and a respite for caretakers. Our outreach is rooted in a spirit of cooperation, and we affirm the value of acting in partnership with others. Central to the tenet of our Christian faith is our belief that all people are created in the image of God, with inherent dignity and infinite worth. We also engage with other key actors, including civil society, and the private sector, in various ways and on various levels.
We host a different weekly speaker from local churches, Christian Universities, and Ministry Schools. We host Celebrate Recovery Groups, Christian and Public-School Groups, Corporate Team Building, Marriage and Family Intensive, Interactive Nature, and Outdoor Survival Skills. Lighthouse Christian Retreat, Inc. looks forward to hosting events throughout the year, such as marriage, women’s, and men’s retreats, Pastor’s and ministry leader’s conferences, Shekinah and Youth Glory Camp, and numerous youth events.
These events are filled with the glory of God with signs, wonders, and miracles. There is also the opportunity to attend our Lighthouse events so you and your family can encounter the presence of the Holy Spirit and receive personal ministry from our anointed guest speakers and Children’s Ministry staff. You can host your day, weekend, or week-long group retreat in one of our multiple meeting spaces.
There are great guest speakers who teach the uncompromised Word of God and operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit with signs, wonders, miracles, prophetic, worship warfare, and intercession. The children’s ministry is the place for Bible teaching and an encounter with the Holy Spirit. We also offer fun activities to creative adventures while growing in their relationship with Christ.
We would love to provide you with a time away in nature to experience outdoor glory camp, campfire, interactive outdoor center, and outdoor survival skills while experiencing spiritual renewal, restoration, and revival!
We are working to acquire the finances to purchase the land and buildings. Upon completion: The Lighthouse will be situated in a beautiful natural setting between Washington, D.C., and Richmond, Virginia.
